The PSOE asks the Provincial Council for a plan to help young people who settle in the rural areas of the province

Thus, the Socialists present a motion to the Special Accounts Committee requesting this aid plan so that young people can choose different lines of action: the first one aimed at calling for financial support subsidies for young people to face the payment of housing rent in municipalities of the province with less than 20,000 inhabitants.

Another proposal, according to the motion consulted by Europa Press, is for aid to young people to finance technical fees for the drafting of projects and optional management for the construction or rehabilitation of houses that are in municipalities of the province affected by depopulation.

A third line could be directed, in the opinion of the Socialists, to summon subsidies destined to finance amounts related to the ordinary installments of the mortgage loans arranged with banks for the acquisition of houses in municipalities of the province of Malaga with less than 20,000 inhabitants.

“The COVID-19 crisis is preying on the youngest workers, it is our opportunity to bet on policies to support the youth sector linked as it cannot be otherwise, with the fight for depopulation in our province,” they argue from the PSOE.

At this point, they consider that it is a “social need that requires action or at least an approach to a collaborative position on the part of the provincial institution.”

In the motion, they recall that job insecurity and low wages prevent a large part of young Spaniards from having access to a home that they own: “They neither have the capacity to pay the initial down payment, nor a stable job to face the mortgage. Rent, often shared due to high prices, or staying with the family are the only alternatives for many of them. ” A trend “that only increases every year”.

“The high unemployment rate and irregular jobs translate into a lack of purchasing power,” insist from the PSOE, while adding that in recent years, due to all this, “the percentage of young owners has drastically decreased. “.

“Today most of them are forced to opt for rent when they are emancipated. However, it is precisely in this rental market where the highest price increases are being registered, so many young people do not have enough no choice but to delay the date of their emancipation, share the rent or resort to the help of their parents, “they lament, and they highlight the importance of the Provincial Council helping these young people to focus on municipalities with little population.
