The Lakers, yet still deprived of Davis and James, won clearly Saturday night in Brooklyn (126-101). Gary Trent Jr made it easy for Toronto to take a bite out of Cleveland. Enes Kanter carried Portland in his victory over Detroit. Golden State easily beat Houston.
The Lakers play a nasty trick on the Nets, Phily couldn’t ask for better
Deprived for several weeks of their two leaders LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who should ultimately not replay before the end of April, the Lakers alternate good and less good outings. On Saturday night, their match against Brooklyn in the suburbs of New York falls into the first category. Even without their two stars, the Californians managed to play a nasty trick to the Nets (victory 126-101) and Kevin Durant, yet author of 22 points. Opposite, Andre Drummond (20 points, 11 rebounds) excepted, nobody really shone from a personal point of view. And this new success of the reigning champions owes mainly to the collective performance of the Lakers. Only downside: this first career expulsion for Dennis Schröder after words with Kyrie Irving, who had also not been excluded from a prosecution since his debut. Unfortunately, everything needs a start and this Brooklyn defeat benefits the Sixers of Joel Embiid (27 points). After having subjected OKC and the two Frenchies Théo Maledon and Jaylen Hoard to their sixth consecutive defeat (117-93), Phily again leads the way in the East.
