As sports calendars are refined over the days, in football, rugby or even tennis, we take stock this Friday on the competitions and sports that you can follow all summer.
Football
Germany
Germany was the first championship to resume competition after confinement. This Saturday July 4, you have an appointment with the final of the German Cup which opposes Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern. Match commented on the L’Équipe channel at 8 p.m.
In the league, Bayern Munich have already been crowned German champions avant the end of the Bundesliga.
France
In France, the official calendars of the League 1 and some League 2 for the next season should be published before July 15th. In the meantime, the French clubs have planned, as every year, preparation matches before the resumption.
The highlights this summer:
- OGC Nice – Olympique Lyonnais this Saturday July 4,
- Saint-Étienne – OGC Nice July 10,
- Nantes – Girondins of Bordeaux August 1st
- Rennais Stadium – Lorient August 4
You also have an appointment with the finals of national cups. The final of the Coupe de France, at the Stade de France, between Paris-Saint-Germain and AS Saint-Étienne. Match on July 24 at 9 p.m.. The League Cup final, which this year opposes PSG and Lyon July 31 at 8:45 p.m.. The two meetings will also be limited to 5,000 spectators inside the Stade de France.
Spain
In Spain, there everything remains to be done for the end of the season in La Liga. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are neck and neck at the top of the championship. The last day will be played on July 19, with an Alavés – Barcelona and Leganés – Real Madrid. Two more weeks of suspense for fans of Spanish clubs.
Italy
In Italy too the title is not yet acquired for Juventus, eight days from the end, the last being scheduled August 2 next.
The 38th day foresees three shocks: Juventus – AS Rome, Naples – Lazio and a tasty Atalanta – Inter, the first six in the championship. The old lady always has four points ahead of Lazio.
England
In England, the championship is also coming to an end this July. Even if Liverpool were crowned champions of England, the race for Europe continues. The last day will take place July 26.
It also remains the semi-finals of the FA Cup to be played, Manchester United – Chelsea and Arsenal – Manchester City, matches on July 18 and the final.
European Cups
And then in August you have a date with the Champions League and the Europa League. The last round of 16 will be played between August 5 and 8. The Europa League final will take place on August 21 and that of the Champions League on August 23. PSG and Olympique Lyonnais are still in the race. The Parisians are in the quarter-finals after eliminating Dortmund. Lyon have yet to play their return match against Juventus.
Formula 1
Formula 1 has already resumed this Friday with qualifying practice in Austria. The sanitary protocol is very strict, in order to respect the barrier gestures with a limited staff, a controlled paddock, no podium or public around the finish line.
The schedule is very busy until August 30:
- July 3 to 5 : Austrian GP
- July 10 to 12 : GP of Styria
- July 17-19 : Hungarian GP
- July 31 to August 2 : British GP
- August 7 to 9 : 70th anniversary GP
- August 14-16 : Spanish GP
- from August 28 to 30 : Belgian GP
Tennis
While waiting for the Roland-Garros tournament, organized from September 27 to October 11, in half-full stands, you will be able to follow the US Open in New York at the end of the summer, from August 31 to September 13.
Cycling
Before the big start of the Tour de France at the end of the summer, organized this year from August 29 to September 20, you can wait with Un Tour d’avance to follow on France Bleu.
From August 8 next, bike lovers will be able to follow the first classic of the year, Milan-San Remo. After that you have a date with the Tour of Poland, organized from August 5 to 9 and the Critérium du Dauphiné, from August 12 to 16, to follow on France Bleu. A good appetizer before the big start of the Tour de France next August 29 in Nice.
Basket
Stopped like all other sports competitions with the coronavirus, the NBA will resume its season behind closed doors on July 31st.
