Houses, schools, places of worship damaged

Earthquake having a magnitude of 6.1 which is centered in the south of Malang Regency, causing a number of buildings and houses to be damaged by residents. In addition, seven people were reported dead and dozens injured.

Plt. Chief Executive of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Java Province, Yanuar Rachmadi, noted that at least the damage occurred in 13 districts / cities.

“Heavy to minor damage was recorded in a number of areas. But this is a temporary nature, awaiting the team’s data collection in the field,” said Yanuar, Saturday (10/4).

Some areas that suffered damage were in Malang Regency. There the damage occurred at the Majangtengah Village Office, with minor damage; damaged house in Majangtengah Village.

Then, the Bantur District Health Center; SMK Negeri 1 Turen; MTSN 1 Malang Gondanglegi; SMAN 1 Sumberpucung, SMK Widya Dharma Turen; Sumberjo Gedangan Village Hall, and 37 houses were lightly damaged.

In Lumajang District, the building of SD Argosari 2 was damaged; 3 people died; and 1 victim of minor injuries. In Pasuruan, the damage occurred at the Baiturohman Mosque in Tutur District.

Furthermore, in Blitar Regency the damage occurred at the Blitar Regency DPRD Office. Trenggalek Regency, minor damage befell the Durenan District Office; Durenan Vocational High School; Cakul Village Office, Dongko District; SMP 2 Tugu; Siki Village Hall, Dongko District; Residents’ houses in Margumulyo Village, Cakul Village Hall and Timahan Village Hall.

Then in Gresik, 1 unit of the house was slightly damaged. The earthquake in Blitar City damaged part of Mardi Waluyo Hospital inpatient room. Malang City, damage to Rusunawa and houses was moderately damaged.

In Kediri City, the IIK Baktiwiyata Building was damaged. In Probolinggo one house was slightly damaged and one prayer room was moderately damaged. In Ponorogo Regency, one house was moderately damaged.

Then in Jember, 1 unit severely damaged house, 7 units moderately damaged house, 6 units lightly damaged house, 1 unit moderately damaged mosque. In Tulungagung District, houses were lightly damaged and were being collected.

Previously, BMKG recorded an earthquake measuring 6.1 magnitude rocking Malang Regency, East Java. The epicenter was in the sea with a depth of 25 km. The location of the earthquake was 90 kilometers from Malang Regency.

“There is no potential for a tsunami,” quoted BMKG’s statement via the Twitter account @infoBMKG.

East Java BPBD noted that the earthquake was felt in 17 districts / cities in East Java. In addition, the earthquake was also felt in Banjarnegara, Central Java and Bali.

The affected areas include Malang Regency, Lumajang Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Blitar City, Malang City, Batu City, Blitar Regency, Sidoarjo Regency.

Then Surabaya City, Bangkalan Regency, Sampang Regency, Pamekasan Regency, Sumenep Regency, Pacitan Regency, Ponorogo Regency, Madiun Regency and Tuban Regency.
