Bicycle demo over the autobahn to stop the construction of the A100 – Berlin.de

Against the expansion of Autobahn 100, participants in a bicycle demonstration want to take part in a part of the Autobahn this afternoon (2 p.m.). Among other things, Fridays for Future and the youth organization of the Greens called for the action in Berlin.

Several members of the Green parliamentary group in the House of Representatives also want to join the action on Tempelhofer Damm. “I will work to ensure that the next section of the A100 is finally deleted from the federal traffic route plan,” said the green top candidate for the parliamentary elections, Bettina Jarasch. Jarasch caused a stir in March with her criticism of the A100. She had spoken out in favor of the dismantling of the A100 on the section up to Treptower Park and, not least, provoked criticism from the Berlin economy with her statements.

The Berlin Left also supports the protest. “We want to check whether the 16th construction section, which is already under construction, can be converted into a city street with a cycle expressway,” announced the state chairwoman Katina Schubert.
