Amazon trade unions blowout: majority of employees vote against union formation

The result of the vote in Bessemer can be considered a big win for Amazon, and a defeat for America’s left. If the union had made it, the online company would have been forced to negotiate, including on higher wages.

Amazon is fighting tooth and nail against the arrival of unions, arguing that the start-up wage within the company is twice the federal minimum wage, and that employees are also entitled to health insurance.

Despite this, employees at the company complain about low wages and very difficult working conditions.
