Traders are ready for Monday’s opening, an onslaught awaits in their shoes

Merchants who can resume operations on Monday are ready for customers to arrive. Often, they now used stores as outlets for online orders, so preparing an opening is not a big problem for them. In the first days, sellers of children’s shoes in particular are waiting for a more significant influx. The range of other permitted goods will also be expanded by food chains. It follows from a survey among traders.

From Monday, the government granted an exemption from the ban on retail sales of children’s clothing and footwear, stationery and reverential goods, spare parts for cars and machines, locksmiths, dry cleaners, laundries or household repair shops will be able to operate again. Until now, as part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, only food, pharmacies, drugstores, opticians, pet shops or florists could be open.

The BotaBota children’s footwear network will reopen the stores. According to its owner Eva Žáková, an increased number of customers can be expected, especially in the first two days. She has thus strengthened her staff and she will help with the sale herself. According to previous experience, more people come to separate stores than those in shopping malls, she said. He expects great demand, especially for slippers. She is happy to be able to serve customers again in stores. According to her, the beginning of spring is the strongest period for sales. Now she could only sell through the e-shop, but many parents were clueless as to how to choose children’s shoes without trying, she said.

The Baťa retail chain recorded a significant drop in sales of children’s shoes after the stores closed. “Parents are often afraid to buy shoes online, while the baby’s foot is growing fast and children should always have shoes of the right size,” said Denisa Jandová, the company’s marketing manager. From Monday, according to her, people will be able to shop in most stores. They can find the current opening hours on the website. Among other things, they will be able to visit the brand new store in Jablonec nad Nisou and the store opened in March in Olomouc in the center of the Moritz Gallery.

The children’s departments of the C&A chain will also be available to customers. “We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers children’s goods and fashion for Clockhouse brand teenagers directly in our stores from April 12. Of course, customers can continue to use the Call & Shop service, especially for purchasing women’s and men’s collections,” said C&A director for Austria and the CEE region Norbert W. Scheele.

KiK discount stores will also open stores. According to the company executive Martin Šatný, people will offer spring collections of children’s clothes, winter and autumn goods here at a discount.

Children’s clothing, footwear and stationery will be available again in Tesco stores. According to company spokesman Václav Koukolíček, there will certainly be great interest with regard to the opening of schools. According to him, people were already asking for these goods. Customers did not understand why, when they are already in the store, they can not buy everything they normally offer, and they are used to buying these products along with groceries, he added.
