In Normandy, the peak of the 3rd wave of the Covid has not been reached but the regional health agency noted on April 9 the effectiveness of containment measures to curb contamination. The comparison is simple in the region, since one part was confined 3 weeks ago, the other not.
► Incidence rate: 352 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (345 a week ago, increase: + 2.1%). This rate increases “more weakly” explains the director of the ARS of Normandy.
- Calvados 270 (+ 15.2%)
- Some 248 (+ 18.1%)
- Orne 334 (- 2%)
- Your 418 (- 9.5%)
- Seine-Maritime 411 (+ 1.7%)
The test positivity rate is starting to drop 6.7% (down from 7.8% a week ago). Operations rapid screening and free continue.
►More and more hospital admissions for patients with the virus
Hospitals under pressure, “extreme fatigue “ of agents admits the director general of the ARS of Normandy Thomas Deroche, admissions for serious forms of the coronavirus are increasing.
As of April 7, in Norman hospitals
- 1,624 Covid patients (+156 in one week)
- 215 in intensive care (+30 in one week)
- 15 deaths on average each day of Covid patients, a number up (3,611 since the start of the pandemic)
In Seine-Maritime, patients sick with Covid occupy 123% of resuscitation capacity.
►Programming of extended non-emergency operations
This instruction from the ARS is now given to hospitals in Calvados and La Manche. 30% of operations postponed to hospital in Caen and in La Manche: 50%
In the hospitals of Rouen, Evreux and Vernon: 50%
Hospitals can count on a reserve of 373 caregivers who agree to come in reinforcement. They are more likely to have applied for vaccination (669).
► More vaccination appointments
“There are still appointments available next week for the Normans” in the target ” indicates the director of the ARS of Normandy. The opening date of the meetings for Normans from 60 years old is still unknown.
The number of vaccinations is increasing:
- 15,000 per day in March
- 24,000 a day in April.
As of April 9, 534,597 Normans have received their first dose (including 66% of the over 75s, 46% of the 70-74 age group))
