This solar power plant project, capable of supplying 30 KW of electricity for the Al-Durrah pediatric hospital in Gaza City, was implemented by Give Palestine Association, a charity in this coastal enclave.
In an online ceremony, the director of the Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, Guo Wei, said China has pledged to implement “projects that will help Palestinians to improve their living conditions in accordance with their needs and to bring more benefits to the Palestinian people. “
China is a “country of friend and reliable partner” of Palestine, said Guo, adding that the project demonstrates “the deep friendship of the Chinese people for the Palestinian people.”

For his part, the secretary general of the Give Palestine Association, Emad al-Agha, said that this project would provide 60% of the energy needed for the operation of the pediatric hospital of Al-Durrah.
“Chinese support for this hospital is an extension of what China is providing to the Palestinian people at all levels, and in particular with regard to the needs of Palestinian children,” he said.
In recent years, the Gaza Strip has suffered from a chronic energy deficit which adversely affects the already difficult living conditions in this territory.
