The FO union of the Nogent-le-Rotrou hospital steps up to ask for more listening and consideration

They do not demonstrate on the forecourt of their hospital, however, the staff of the Nogent-le-Rotrou hospital center are also going through a difficult period due to the health crisis. If the first two waves of Covid-19 spared the Perche, the third wave submerged it.

In this trying context, the FO union stepped up to point out dysfunctions and “a lack of consideration” from management towards hospital workers.

The staff are tired, they no longer count their hours

Union spokespersons describe a worrying situation: “In the current context of the health crisis, staff are very tired because they no longer count their hours and they do a lot. There are more and more contaminated personnel and people are often called back on their days off ”.

They point to a lack of listening, “support” from management and say they have been fighting “for months” so that the overtime increase system “is applied to all staff at the Nogent hospital”.

They explain that it was allocated to permanent and contractual agents of public establishments in the areas of active circulation of the virus from October 1 to December 31, 2020.

Dreux hospital received seven Covid patients from Nogent-le-Rotrou

Hospital workers regret that “these hours have only been increased for certain hospital services, management judging that all the agents were not actively fighting against the Covid-19 epidemic. We believe that we have all changed the way we work ”.

Malfunctions

And they detail the daily life of the various services: “The shuttle service transports protective equipment, PCR tests to the laboratory, handles infectious waste such as Covid, the confinement of residents in rooms at the Charmeraie has generated a workload. additional for all teams. All the cogs of the hospital are useful for the proper functioning of care services, they all work for the health crisis. Even the kitchens are subject to drastic hygiene measures ”.

Vaccination is accelerating in Nogent-le-Rotrou

FO hospital agents also highlight dysfunctions: “Most of the instances in 2020 have turned into a Covid information meeting, leaving all other issues aside. The proceedings at the start of 2021 have even been canceled ”. The union asked for an extraordinary Health, Safety and Working Conditions Committee (CHSCT) to be held. “We remain to this day without an answer.”

Anne Constantin, the director of the hospitals of Nogent-le-Rotrou, Châteaudun and La Loupe reacts to the demands of the representatives of the FO union within the Nogentais hospital.

“All the professionals who had overtime benefited from the payment of these hours, so for me, there are no problems. On the other hand, asking myself as a director to take advantage of the government’s windfall effect to give overtime to staff who should not receive it, that poses a concern to me because the excess of overtime must have a link with the Covid. They ask that we overpay people who do not come within the framework of the decree. As a director, I can’t do it, I don’t have the right ”. Anne Constantin confirms that the hospital has lived through difficult times: “At the time of the second wave we had opened 6 to 8 beds to accommodate patients with Covid, on this third wave, we went up to 22 beds. We lived through a period of very strong tension, particularly in terms of staff numbers because we had contaminated agents and we had to over-solicit some of our staff to ensure the care of patients who arrived in large numbers at the hospital ”. She specifies that the situation is currently stabilizing and that the hospital is less strained.
