Status: April 7th, 2021 7:29 am
In Schleswig-Holstein, the health authorities reported 237 new corona infections to the state on Tuesday (April 6). The Segeberg district is still above the 100 incidence.
Across the country, the seven-day incidence has decreased slightly. The health department reported a value of 62.3 for Tuesday. On Easter Monday it was 66.5, on Easter Sunday it was 67.6. However, the values over the holidays and a few days after are difficult to compare with the numbers from regular weeks. The Robert Koch Institute also points out that fewer tests are usually carried out and reported on the Easter holidays. The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who have demonstrably been infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic increased to 51,424. According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 45,700 people from Schleswig-Holstein have recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics there have been 1,447 deaths (+4) so far in connection with the viral disease Covid-19.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values usually do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the 7-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. This value comes closer to the actual development of the pandemic. You can see it when you click on one of the circles. Read more about the incidence values here.
Segeberg district above the 100 incidence
The Segeberg district is currently the only district still above the 100 incidence limit. The state registration office calculated an incidence value of 123.0 for the Segeberg district (previous day: 125.2). In Neumünster the value is 92.3. Due to the current corona situation, stricter corona rules have been in effect in many places since April 1.
The lowest incidences in Schleswig-Holstein with values below 50 are found in the districts of Ostholstein (43.4), Dithmarschen (33.0), Schleswig-Flensburg (21.4), Plön (21.0) and North Frisia (15.1) .
Development of the number of corona cases in Schleswig-Holstein
New Corona regulation valid until April 11th
On March 29, an amended Corona Control Ordinance came into force in Schleswig-Holstein. It is valid until April 11th and among other things allows more visitors to the homes again. In mid-March, the state government decided that rules for the retail trade as well as for schools and daycare centers will in future be made dependent on the seven-day incidence in the district or in the urban district.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination rate shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first of the currently two required vaccinations.
201 corona patients in clinics
204 people who tested positive for Corona (+3) are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. 50 of the Covid patients are in intensive therapy (-3), 30 patients have to be ventilated (-4).
The following map shows the utilization of the intensive care units in Schleswig-Holstein – summarized at the level of the districts and urban districts. If you select a region (touch or click), you will find out exactly how high the load is there and you will receive information on how many corona patients are being treated in the intensive care unit and how many are being ventilated. The status of the date in the table must be observed. Due to delays in the reporting process, the information provided by the clinics or the DIVI intensive care register may differ.
What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
Regional corona data on the infection process
Some administrations publish a regional evaluation of the corona numbers, but mostly not up-to-date. A selection:
