Pfizer vaccine – US helps Ukraine prepare for shipment

According to the embassy, USAID is working on concluding a contract with a logistics provider at the request of the Ukrainian government.

“USAID is helping prepare for Pfizer and other approved vaccines by providing direct support to ultracold storage and shipping chains and supporting efforts to provide accurate vaccine information,” the US office said.

In addition, the US Embassy welcomed the conclusion of a contract between Ukraine and Pfizer for 10 million doses of coronavirus vaccine. The embassy stressed that this “brings a future without COVID closer.”

The Pfizer vaccine requires storage between -80 and -60 degrees Celsius. This vaccine is transported in special freezers. In late February, US media reported that Pfizer’s vaccine storage conditions could become more affordable. The vaccine may be allowed to be stored in regular pharmacy freezers.
