Taking into account the prevailing conditions in the country and in the world, the Latvian premiere of the new “BMW M4” will take place this time without spectators.
The first, original BMW M3 saw the light of day 35 years ago and has since become a sports car icon. With the all-new sixth-generation BMW M3 and second-generation BMW M4, the Bavarian manufacturer has taken several steps forward without being shy about provocative innovation, while maintaining the tradition of the original BMW M3.
On the one hand, the all-new BMW M3 and M4 will also be available with the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, but on the other hand, BMW will retain the option for “purists” to shift gears themselves – the M3 and M4 as the only ones. will be available in its class with a six-speed manual transmission. It should be noted that most customers will choose the completely new eight-speed “M Steptronic” automatic transmission.
The new BMW M3 and M4 will be equipped with a new three-liter biturbo six-cylinder engine that develops 480 horsepower and 550 Newton meters of torque. In an even more furious modification of the “Competition”, this power unit will develop 510 hp and 650 Nm.
In the standard version, both sports models can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds, while their maximum speed is electronically limited to the 250 km / h mark. With the purchase of the optional M Driver package, the maximum speed limit is moved to 290 km / h. The Competition version, on the other hand, accelerates from standstill to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a maximum of 290 km / h.
