In Chad, a few days before the presidential elections, the opposition is mobilizing.
On Monday in Ndjamena, the Chadian capital, Dr Succes Masara described the April 11 elections as a charade during a press conference at the headquarters of his Transformers Party.
He accused the regime of drifting and took the opportunity to present to the press the remains of ammunition fired at the party headquarters by the police.
“It’s a joke in a way, but it’s about changing the leadership to bring solutions to the lives of Chadians, so for us it’s not an election as such, so we will fight until on the last day, the 11th, for a very active boycott. of these elections, in short to prevent the elections from taking place And if he happened to apply this sixth mandate which the people do not want then everyone will have witnessed it and I believe that our objective will be to make the ungovernable country, because they made this country uninhabitable for “all the Chadian population”. ” said Transformers Party chairman Dr Success Masra.
But the camp opposite does not see it that way, and calls for the postponement or cancellation of the elections have so far been ignored by the government.
Idriss Déby, the current president and candidate for his own succession, met his voters on Monday in Farcha, the 1st arrondissement of the capital.
He addressed the crowd in Arabic and called on voters to vote for him for a knockout victory on the evening of April 11.
“We have already gained a lot since Mr. Deby came to power, but if not we have confidence in him, he will end, our country has known more than 30 wars, but a lot has improved since he took office, the roads are light, he is 80%, he only has 20% left, and we know he will do the rest in the next 6 years ” assured Ibrahim Sallé, a supporter of outgoing President Idriss Déby.
It was overheated young people who attacked the esplanade of the outgoing president’s party headquarters in Farcha, promising him victory on election night. Next and final meeting for candidate Deby, April 9.
