In the last hours, several areas of the Aburrá Valley have presented heavy rainfall, some with hail, which have generated some road floods and the most serious case: the overflow of the Medellín river.

During the downpour, several social media users and drivers began to share videos that evidenced the overflow of the tributary in the sectors of La Macarena, bridge of the 33, underground of the river and some areas in the south of the Aburrá Valley such as the municipality of Sabaneta.
The mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, took charge of the emergency, as well as the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management, Dagrd, and the Medellín Fire Department, cwith monitoring and attention in the critical points of the overflow.
The Dagrd reported that at the moment there are no injuries and suggested that drivers take alternate routes to the affected areas.
