El Corte Inglés and the Red Cross collaborate in a toy collection campaign | Radio Murcia

The English Court of Murcia and the Red Cross will carry out next Saturday 12 December a toy collection action framed in the Toy Campaign “Your rights at stake”. The National Red Cross Youth area needs toys for 50,000 children from vulnerable families.

Those who wish can donate their toys at El Corte Inglés in Gran Vía Salzillo on the 4th floor in the toys department.

The “Your rights at stake” Campaign goes far beyond the distribution of toys. The main purpose of this action, according to the director of the Youth Red Cross, Paula Rivarés, is to promote the use of games and toys as an educational tool and for the transmission of values in the school and family context.

What kinds of toys can be donated?

· New: for fairness and non-discrimination, so that all boys and girls have a new toy. According to the principle of fairness, it is impossible for us to have to discriminate against some people by giving them second-hand toys, we do not believe that there are early childhood and second-rate childhood. Additionally, we cannot guarantee that a toy will be 100% safe once it has been removed from its original packaging.

· Non-warlike and non-sexist and preferably educational: to promote attitudes of respect and cooperation. Toys are transmitting elements of social values. Through play, boys and girls acquire knowledge and behaviors. If we encourage children to use educational toys, we will be promoting values such as tolerance, diversity, respect, equality …

· Environmentally sustainable: made from materials with less environmental impact.

In addition to the delivery of toys at the authorized collection points, you can collaborate with the campaign by making donations on the Red Cross website, by calling 900 104 971 and by sending SMS with the word TOY to 38088 (3 euros ), which will be allocated entirely to the purchase of toys for boys and girls from families in social difficulty.
