The Health Council of the Principality of Asturias has confirmed this monday three deaths and 169 new cases of COVID-19 this weekend, between Saturday and Sunday.
Specifically, on Saturday, April 3, there were 74 new cases in Asturias, with 17 admissions to the ward and 6 to the ICU, and 5 hospital discharges were processed. On that day there were two deaths: two men aged 85 and 86. Sespa carried out 2,302 tests and the positivity rate was 4.47%.
This Sunday, the 4th, there were 95 new cases, with 20 admissions to the ward and two to the ICU, and 7 discharges were registered. In addition, a 78-year-old man died. For its part, the Principality Health Service (Sespa) carried out 1,936 tests and the positivity rate stood at 5.63%.
Currently, in the Principality there are 184 hospitalized patients with confirmed or suspected covid-19 and another 66 affected people remain in intensive care units.
On the other hand, the total occupancy due to covid in Asturian hospitals reaches 7.25%. In the case of ICUs, it rises to 20.24%. Currently there are no patients admitted to the converted centers for the care of people with coronavirus, which have 120 enabled beds.
The Principality urges citizens to limit social activity as much as possible and avoid contact with the elderly or with chronic diseases if they have faced any risk situation. In particular, it appeals to the inhabitants of Langreo and Siero, as well as those of those other councils in which the extreme risk level (4+) is declared.
