“Of course I will not obey when they say you can not go out, you can not tweet, you can not communicate with people,” Prince Hamzah said in an audio recording published on Twitter on Sunday night.
The former Crown Prince was placed under house arrest on Saturday and charged via BBC Jordan’s leaders for nepotism, corruption and misrule. The next day, the government said the prince was part of a “malicious conspiracy” that has been averted. At least 16 others have been arrested. They are accused of collaborating with foreign actors to undermine the country’s security.
Prince Hamzah refuses to be part of any “conspiracy or criminal organization”.
