New Statue of Liberty Museum opens in New York in May 2019

Around 4.5 million people visit the small island every year

Liberty Island in the port of New Yorkon which the statue stands – between 8,000 and 28,000 a day. Only around 20 percent of it can then go into the statue, only around seven percent into the crown. The free tickets for this are usually booked out months in advance. Visitors do not need a ticket for the new museum, but they still need a ticket for the ferry to the island.
