Outriders, the new game from game studio People Can Fly, has had connectivity issues since its release on Thursday. The game can be played in single player, but since it is an always-online game, players still experienced inconvenience.
The Polish game studio and Epic Games subsidiary suggested in the past few days that it has been busy fixing the problems, which have an unknown cause. Outriders’ Twitter account is littered with tweets and reactions about the problem. A tweet from game journalist Geoff Keighley and the comments below also illustrate how many people are affected and how they feel about it.
People Can Fly said last night that it sees “a period of stability” with its servers, suggesting that the worst of the problems are over. The studio promises also a ‘post-mortem’ summary of what went wrong and what was done about it.
Outriders is an online third-person shooter and player versus environmentgame that can be played alone or in co-op with two others. Cross-play is also possible between all platforms the game has been released on: Windows, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and the Xbox Series. Currently, the Windows version has problems that hinder cross-play. The game costs 59.99 euros. People Can Fly is also known for work on Painkiller, Gears of War and Bulletstorm.
