JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The government can save USD 17 billion or the equivalent of IDR 246.5 trillion (exchange rate of IDR 14,500) due to spending on domestic products.
This statement was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, speaking at the opening ceremony of the West Java Patent UKM which was held virtually, Saturday (3/4/2021).
“I also inform you that from the results of our monitoring, we have a capital expenditure for goods of approximately IDR 1,300 trillion. From there we made an inventory yesterday, there is something we can save USD17 billion for (spending) on domestic products,” he said, quoted from Kompas.com, Saturday.

Since last year, the government has been aggressively campaigning for the National Proud Indonesian Movement (Gernas BBI).
This movement encourages people to buy products made by local MSMEs and ultra micro, to support economic sustainability.
Regarding MSMEs, Luhut said that over the past year there have been 4 million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that have entered platform online to market the product.
