New gameplay footage from Resident Evil Village

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the first proper gameplay footage from Resident Evil Village. It happened in January at an event called Resident Evil Showcase. And while we wait for the April showcase, IGN magazine has come up with new footage from the game, which was taken on the PlayStation 4 Pro. For the first time, we can look at what the game looks like and runs on an older generation of consoles.

However, it is important to mention that these are completely new shots from the game. And for the first time ever, we can watch longer uninterrupted sections. Thanks to this, we learned, for example, that money is falling out of the monsters, the so-called “Lei” (which is the currency in Romania where the title takes place), for which we will buy goods from a merchant. Otherwise, in the video we can see Ethan fighting monsters that have already appeared in the January showcase. The interesting thing about them is that they can use weapons at close range such as swords or axes.

At the very end of the video, a scene from the third trailer appeared, where Lady Dimitrescu is calling with her mother Miranda. But now we’ve got one more shot, which you’d better see for yourself.

When it comes to comparing the PS5 and PS4 Pro versions, the difference in image quality is definitely noticeable, especially in the resolution of textures. But I think the graphics of the game look very similar to Resident Evil 7, so it’s still pretty good. So if it’s a price for the title to run on old consoles at 60 frames per second, then players will definitely be happy.

Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.

You can pre-order the game in the store Xzone.
