The animal vaccine Karnivak-Kov is completely harmless and 100% effective, according to Russia.

Russia announced the registration of the world’s first vaccine against coronavirus for animals. This was announced on Wednesday, March 31st, by the Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov, writes Interfax.

The sorbed inactivated animal vaccine was named Karnivak-Kov.

Clinical trials were carried out on dogs, cats, arctic foxes, minks, foxes and other animals.

“The results of the research allow us to conclude that the vaccine is harmless and its high immunogenic activity, since all tested vaccinated animals developed antibodies to coronavirus in 100% of cases,” Savenkov said.

Rosselkhoznadzor scientists continue to study for how long immunity is developed after drug administration.

Until now, two facts of infection of cats have been officially established in Russia – in Moscow and Tyumen.

An experimental COVID drug was developed by the veterinary pharmaceutical company Zoetis. It is noted that this vaccine is not suitable for human use.
