Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has his own approach when eyeing a player. The Norwegian manager reportedly really monitors the player’s mentality, character, and history, in order to get the type of player who is really Manchester United.
One of his best recruits was none other than that Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder has so far scored 35 goals and 21 assists in 67 appearances for Manchester United.
How Solskjaer pays attention to detail can be illustrated by a story he tells himself. The former MU attacker once canceled monitoring of players because of his hairstyle!
“I once went to monitor a player and when he came out of the locker room through the hallway, he turned out to have a mohican hairstyle,” he said. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Sky Sports and quoted Metro.
“I said to my talent guide: No, let’s go home. Not interested. It’s the shortest trip to monitor a player,” added the 48-year-old man.
