The ISIS offensive began shortly after food shipments landed in the northern coastal city, where for months it was inaccessible by road due to insecurity.
Lionel Dyck, owner of a private military company that helps Mozambique authorities fight the insurgency, told the BBC that a food truck driver was beheaded during the attack.
