“Postharvest treatments and vine fertilizations”, new virtual training on viticulture

The Ministry of Production and Economic Development, through the Directorate of Vitivinicultural Affairs dependent on the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Agroindustry, invites you to participate in the 7th talk on Viticulture, which will be held this Tuesday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m.

“Post-harvest treatments and the fertilization of the vine” is the name of this training that will be carried out virtually through the YouTube Channel of the Government of San Juan, aimed at wine producers. This activity is carried out in conjunction with the National Institute of Viticulture, INTA and the Viticultural Development Center.

The activity will be in charge of the agronomists Rodrigo Espíndola, Hugo Carmona and Fioravante Da Rold, who will address issues related to fertilization, irrigation systems and phytosanitary treatments for fibula and powdery mildew.

Postharvest treatments will be deepened, which is that moment when the plant continues to work but instead of keeping the fruits, it sends the reserve substances to the roots so that they finish forming and maturing all the buds that are going to be used in the pruning of the next cycle, among other processes that occur within the plant.

Another point that will be discussed during the talk will be the phytosanitary treatments to combat the most common vine diseases, with the aim of conserving the foliage: in this way the plant continues to work, carrying out photosynthesis and sending reserve substances to the roots. It is important to note that these fungi destroy and dry the leaves, which makes it impossible for the plant to make reserve substances and thus be able to face the next period.

People who wish to participate may do so through this link.
