Lil Nas X will not match the success of ‘Old town road’ with his new single, but will stir up believers by also releasing shoes with blood in the sole.

Lil Nas X and luxury company MSCHF pimped to promote ‘Montero (Call me by your name)’ 666 pairs of Nike Air Max 97 sneakers to ‘Satan’s sneakers’. They provided them with a sole with a red liquid, a mixture of red ink and a drop of human blood per sole.
The blood was donated by employees of MSCHF, which already launched a limited series of ‘Jezussneakers’ with holy water in 2019. The shoes come in a box with a detail from Jan Van Eycks Last judgement.
The edition was immediately bought by collectors, who paid $ 1,018 for a few – that number refers to Luke 10.18 from the New Testament“Jesus said: I saw the devil fall like lightning from heaven.”
Just as predictably, conservative believers were dismayed to the stunt. “We must fight for the soul God gave us,” tweeted South Dakota governor Kristi Noem. In the video, Lil Nas X fights a battle with the devil between his faith and his sexual orientation.
Nike says it was unaware of the stunt. The company has taken to court to stop the sale of the shoes. The logo on the shoes is also a problem for Nike.
