A urban renewal project in Val-de-Marne, in the municipalities of Orly and Choisy-le-Roi, will be part of 14 experimental districts set up by the government. Explanations.
Develop the economy in the neighborhoods
This program, called “Productive neighborhoods”, aims to support and accelerate the economic development of priority neighborhoods located in 14 experimental areas. The ministry in charge of the City explains: “The Productive Quarters approach has a double ambition: to support the communities in the definition of territorial strategies of economic development and to make more accessible the offer of existing devices”. It is supported by the State with the National Agency for the Cohesion of Territories (ANCT), the National Agency for Urban Renovation (ANRU), the Banque des Territoires, the Caisse des Dépôts and Bpifrance.
Support for entrepreneurship, development of trade and crafts, establishment of productive activities and digital transition are all aspects that can be put forward in the regions Productive neighborhoods.

More than 700 housing units will be built
This urban renewal project provides for the demolition of 397 social rental housing including 267 in Navigateurs (even and odd Champlain buildings, Jacques Cartier and Cavelier de la Salle) and 300 rooms equivalent to 130 housing units in the ADEF social residence in Hautes-Bornes.
At the same time, 748 housing units will be built, including 95 social housing units (70 in Navigateurs and 25 in Hautes-Bornes). Finally, rehabilitation and residentialization of 156 social rental housing is also planned.
