You can probably add Chelsea’s Timo Werner to the folks list in hopes the DFB find a way to fight Bayern Munich’s Hansi Flick this summer.
Flick, of course, would be a fan of Werner, but German manager Joachim Löw might have lost confidence in the quick striker.
According to a report by Bild captured in a tweet from @iMiaSanMia, Löw no longer trusts Werner to play against deeply rooted teams and has told the 25-year-old so.
The news was obviously a surprise for Werner and would have upset the player:

For Werner, it is yet another blow in a season that we no longer remember. After a solid start at Chelsea, Werner passed out under Frank Lampard. When Thomas Tuchel took over, it emerged that Werner was heading in the right direction again, but this latest news could be another blow to Werner’s confidence.
Is this some sort of motivational tactic that Löw implements to try and get the striker completely back on track or is it potentially the last straw that will see Werner drop out of the squad for the European Championships?
Werner only saw the substitute duty against Iceland and Romania and acclimated well in what amounted to very short stints on the pitch. Werner has only totaled 25 minutes of field time during games. Against Romania, Werner found himself at the left wing line and fired a shot that found too much Romanian goalkeeper Florian Nita.
One thing we do know about Löw after 2014 is that he likes himself a good scapegoat (just ask Thomas Müller, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels). Although Werner only played 13 minutes against Romania, you can say that Werner’s luck was one of the lost opportunities that Löw refers to in his post-match comments.
