In the spectacular duel with completely overwhelmed Krefeldern, who conceded their sixth bankruptcy in a row, the hosts only got really serious in the first and last third – that was enough for a goal show. The team from the Bavarian capital is now well behind the eagles with 52 points.
2.3 seconds before the end of overtime, defender Joonas Lehtivuori scored the winning goal for Mannheim with a wrist shot, the eight-time German champion now has 66 points thanks to his 23rd win of the season in the 28th game. Iserlohn (42) remains third in the north on a play-off spot.
