The Covid beds in the multi-profile hospital in Pazardzhik are again exhausted. During the weekend, 409 patients with Covid passed through the Emergency Department, said the director of the medical institution Krassimir Temnilov.
“It’s very tense! This morning – again very sick in the corridors. Concentrators, people are breathing. Unfortunately, some we can not help because they are in a very difficult situation. We raised to 30% of the bed stock. Almost all pavilions that are therapeutic, are the patients of Covid. We can’t go up anymore, because we are already entering the block, and everything there is new mothers, babies. We don’t expect PCR tests anymore! They are accepted for a quick test once they pass. The situation is difficult. ” said Temnilov.
“Last week we proposed and by order of RHI the total capacity of the beds in the medical institution was increased by 30%. However, they are not enough again. There is currently no free bed. We had 105 beds, but they were increased to 120. Every day at 16 hours we give information to the RHI with the picture that is in our hospital, “said the doctor.
Most of the patients who come to the Emergency Department of Pazardzhik Hospital have severe respiratory damage or respiratory failure. This requires maximum speed of action and their placement in the wards, said the director of the hospital.
“We have a great difficulty in resuscitation. Our resuscitation beds are 20, and sometimes we have to accept extra patients, there is no way to return patients from the Emergency Department. Usually two resuscitators cover both intensive care units. Although we are equipped with respirators, with oxygen installations built next to each bed.
Because the workload is quite high, patients sometimes have to wait a while. When we are left without resuscitation beds, we inform RHI about this problem so that the ambulances can be directed to other hospitals in the district, “added Dr. Temnilov.
At the moment there are no babies with coronavirus accommodated in the medical institution. There were registered cases of infected mothers last week, but they were isolated, Radio Plovdiv reported.
