The Netherlands expects nearly 170,000 Janssen vaccines next month. The first 84,750 vaccines will arrive in mid-April, Minister Hugo de Jonge (Public Health) recently reported. The pharmaceutical company wants to deliver a total of 3 million vaccines in the second quarter. The Health Council recommended that Janssen’s vaccine be the first to be administered to elderly people over 60 years of age and to people with specific medical conditions.
The vaccine received the green light from the European medicines agency EMA on 11 March as the fourth corona vaccine. Only one shot is needed from the vaccine, unlike the previously approved vaccines from Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca.
