The film “If I Can, You Can” tells about the life of the most successful representative of the new Bulgarian emigration and Deputy Chairman of the Republicans for Bulgaria
I never knew that Bulgaria is one of the most beautiful places in the world while I lived here. Then, as I traveled the world, I saw that this was indeed the case. Here on every bay I went to the beach and for fish. (Dospat dam). This is a unique place and I’m recharging. We have something that cannot be gathered anywhere in the world – as a geographical location, as nature … However, governance is not for nothing.
The problem at the moment in Bulgaria is that in such beautiful places you can see a dead body, life is gone, it is not the same. And it’s not just here. I have traveled all over the country four times in three months, and there is such depopulation everywhere. If we do not take measures at the moment and do not make any change, in 20 years there will be no Bulgaria.
Many people ask me: “You have everything you need to do in politics? This is a dirty job” … I’m tired of being made a balaclava, I’m one of all Bulgarians who spend time with us day “, said Pavel Valnev.
In the film, he says that when the student brigades came out in America, he managed to leave in 2002. “Going there, I met Bulgarians who were driving trucks. They were on vacation and from the conversation between us I learned that they earn $ 5,000 a month. At the same time, my cousin had bought an apartment in Plovdiv opposite the Fair for $ 25,000 and I immediately I thought that 5 months of work is one apartment. I told my brother to come, we stay 1-2 years and go home, “he said.
Pavel Valnev shares that they worked in three places – in the municipality, where he was a cleaner, he was responsible for two parks and the center. “I was in a laundry room where I worked the night shift alone. My brother and I worked in boat parking lots. In the morning, when I came home after my night shift, I drove to an open window because I could fall asleep at a traffic light. I felt I didn’t have the strength.” he remembers.
They stay in Chicago, working as pizza deliverymen, waiters, cleaners, parking controllers and drivers. With money on credit and with their own savings, they buy their first truck.
Year after year, in full compliance with the rules, they strengthen financially, take loans, buy more large trucks, receive green cards, and then American citizenship.
Pavel Valnev is 41 years old, married, with two children. He has lived and worked in Chicago for almost 20 years. “Bulgaria becomes more and more dear and expensive to you when you are thousands of kilometers away,” says the businessman.
“Pavel is a workaholic, a man who likes to set high goals and make them come true,” says his brother Rumen Valnev, adding: “I don’t know if he was born under a lucky star, but every door opens in front of him, he is the engine, sees things 3-4 years ahead, always has a plan “.

-The two run a freight forwarding business in Chicago, Illinois, USA. They own 700 trucks and 2,000 trailers. Their company is the first in a highly competitive environment and without any state aid and political protections. They have other businesses in Chicago and several other continents.
Pavel has recently developed successful investments in various countries in Southeast Europe, but not in Bulgaria. His only experience in Bulgaria is BITelevision, a free media with national coverage.
To this day in Chicago Pavel Valnev is the biggest donor to the Bulgarian community. He unconditionally supports Bulgarian churches, schools, dance groups, sports teams, cultural centers, festivals of native folklore and American tours of Bulgarian artists and singers. He is always with people in happy and sad moments and always – not in words.
“I have never been interested in who he is from. Since he is Bulgarian, I have tried to help.”
He likes to be above things and to forgive. Whenever people came to him for help or whatever, his sense of kindness and big heart, whether he should or shouldn’t, was always ready to help.
“People, looking from the side, see only the shiny part – what cars you drive, what vacations you go on. But behind that is a lot of work and perseverance and a person pays a pretty high price. The fact that I’m involved in politics also pay a price because I see with the children, with my wife and with the parents who are already old. One day we will look for that time. Like the children, they are there now, but years later, when they go to university, I will look for them, “he said. Vice President of Republicans for Bulgaria.
Valnev reveals that many times he has done impossible things from scratch in order to have a great result.
“Over a thousand people work for us in America. A lot of people only know about my truck business, but I’ve had all kinds of businesses in those 20 years. I bought a building for 5 million in the crisis and sold it for 17 million. That’s it. I have done many times with large enterprises, factories … I buy something and resell it.From there I have made much more than from trucks.I currently have shares in all major global companies that are included in my portfolio, I have bought them at the right and right time. An Amazon … years ago if you gave $ 5,000, now it’s $ 1 million. I also have a pretty good result there and a jump in financial status. I’ve made the right investments all these years. I’m certainly made mistakes, but they were not fatal and did not prevent the business from suffering. As we talk about business – we are talking about the import of various goods, not only from Bulgaria but also from all over Europe – from Poland, Turkey and from China we have been distributing various goods, meat processing since, grocery stores. We have a truck stop – selling oil. I can say that the turnover that all gas stations make from Sofia to Bourgas, we do it with only one stop truck. Two hundred trucks stop there, each of them loads 1 ton, “Valnev said.
In the movie “If I Can, You Can,” the businessman says he is also working on energy projects – gas power plants, photovoltaics in northern Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo. There is also a plan for Serbia.
“I never thought about politics. Even when I had television, journalists asked me what this television was for, you would probably be involved in politics. Then I didn’t think about politics and I told them that I have no such intentions.I finally think if I can change something because a bird spring does not. Then I made a plan in my head, I started talking to successful people around the world.I realized that there is an energy and it’s time to Let’s make a change, I’m one of those people in the world who makes us balaclavas, nothing has changed in 30 years, just empty talk, I’ve been thinking about entering politics for a long time, I’ve talked to my family, to my wife, my father and brother I was supported immediately, my brother was always behind me and we agreed that he would take over most of the business in America so that I would have more time to travel. ”
About Pavel Valnev, the American businessman, multimillionaire, philanthropist of Bulgarian origin Shefket Chapadjiev says: “I know one thing: Pavkata wants to do something good for Bulgaria. He doesn’t need money, I know this thing. He can live his whole life with someone island, he can have a yacht and live in peace. This attracts him, he wants to do something for Bulgaria. I am proud of him “.
“I have my theory that if I can convince 100 people like me, we will go in the right direction. Successful people who want nothing from the state but to help it. I am starting to find such people. Here in Bulgaria politicians are a template, everyone is talking clichés, they don’t tell the truth, they have severed ties with people.I have traveled 4 times around the country, I meet people, I look them in the eyes and talk about their problems, I don’t worry about being among them because I haven’t stolen or abused anything. I am a person who always fights for a cause. Wherever I go, people welcome me well and are happy, “says Valnev.
Pavel Valnev is a right-wing and right-wing man. He bears not only his responsibility, but also the constant care for his large family, for his workers and experts. Dedicated to the latest technologies and management systems, it is a permanent implementer of modern facilities for the people who work in its companies. For him, the given word is more than any contract.
“If I get people’s support, I can handle any situation. You are strong if you feel people’s support. I want to look every Bulgarian in the eye and tell him: Believe in yourself! If I can, you can you! “, concluded Pavel Valnev
