Ladislav Bartonicek today took over the management of PPF – the investment group of Czech billionaire Petr Kellner, who died on Saturday in a crash in Alaska. He was one of the founders of the PPF Group, the richest Czech and one of the most influential people in his country and in Central Europe. In Bulgaria it owns Telenor and BTV Media Group, which it acquired with the purchase of its owner CME.
AT the message of the PPF Group it is stated that Bartonicek will manage all activities of the group on behalf of the late Kellner. It does not say how this decision was made and for how long.

He is one of the other two shareholders in the non-public investment group and has a share of about 0.5% of the voting rights. Kellner owns more than 98%, and the second small shareholder since 2010 is Jean-Pascal Duvoir.
Bartonicek has been in the structures of PPF Group for many years, since 2007 he has been a shareholder and was mainly responsible for investments in telecommunications, biotechnology and similar ventures. He is the man at the top of the group who best calls his business in Bulgaria, because the leaders of Telenor Bulgaria and BTV Media Group report to him.
“Overall, PPF Group has a detailed system for managing its investment projects. Teams of professional managers lead the individual companies in PPF Group and will continue to do so under the leadership of Ladislav Bartonicek,” the group said in a brief statement.
“The company states that the death of its founder has no consequences for the day-to-day operation of the PPF Group. The group will continue to develop its investment plans and vision formulated by Peter Kellner and his team of colleagues,” the statement continued.
