0: 1 in the best-of-three series against the table runner-up
Defeat in Herne for the Bundesliga basketball players of the USC Freiburg Eisvögel: The Breisgauerinnen are defeated on Sunday (March 28th, 2021) in the first championship game at the second Herner TC with 56:68 (17:20, 7:21, 18:17, 14:10 ). The main reason was the weak second quarter. Nevertheless, the basket hunters did not make it as easy for their opponents as in the last main round game when the kingfishers lost 49:89 to the HTC.
The second half went to the Freiburg women – but the mortgage of 24:41 at break was too big to be able to turn the game again at the end. The best female thrower from Freiburg was Cassidy Boensch with 18 points, followed by Pauline Mayer with 15 points, four of which were threes. Top scorer Daneesha Provo caught a used day, who remained at nine points and a throw rate that could be improved.
The second quarter-final game will take place on Saturday (April 3rd, 2021) in the Sepp-Glaser-Halle in Freiburg (tip-off: 7.30 p.m.). If the kingfishers win, the decisive third game will take place in Herne on Easter Monday (April 5th, 2021).
