New test of the Olympic team
The national representative Sub 23 will have a new friendly against Japan, from 7:45. Coach Fernando Batista tries to find the team that will compete in July.
El Argentine Under 23 team will close today his preparation for the next Olympic Games with a new friendly against host Japan.
After last Friday’s victory in Tokyo, the team led by Fernando Batista moved to the city of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka prefecture, where the match will be played from 7:45 (Argentine time) and will be televised by TyC Sports. In the first game, Argentina won 1-0 with a goal from striker Adolfo Gaich.
“We will try to see most of the players who have come,” said “Bocha” Batista, in statements to the official AFA site, so the team will have some variations with respect to those who played on Friday in Tokyo.
On April 21, at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, the draw for the Olympic tournament will be held from July 21 to August 7, 2021 and will have the participation of 16 teams.

There will be no invitations
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) canceled the so-called “guest program” and will only accredit people who perform essential functions in the next Olympic Games in Tokyo, which will start in July. The coronavirus pandemic will “notably reduce the number of people accredited to the Games” and one of the reductions fell “on the IOC guest program.”
“To meet the requests of its Japanese partners, the IOC Executive Committee decided to accredit only those people who have essential functions,” they explained.

Diego Schwartzman, firm in Miami
The Buenos Aires Diego Schwartzman (9 of the world ranking) surpassed without problems his debut in the Masters 1000 of Miami, in the United States, with a victory in two sets over the Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama (110´) that allowed him to advance to the third round .
The “Peque”, the best Argentine tennis player of today, needed just 1 hour and 22 minutes of play to achieve the double 6-3 that gave him the victory and deposited it in the next instance, in which he will face the French Adrian Mannarino (36´), who beat the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic by 6-3 and 6-4.
The 28-year-old from Buenos Aires, this season, was champion in the ATP of Buenos Aires -on brick dust- but then he began the North American cement tour with a tough elimination in the first wheel in Acapulco, against Italian Lorenzo Musetti (94) , 19 years old. Schwartzman, then, does not want to miss the opportunity to go far in the Miami Masters 1000, which for different reasons has the absences of Serbian Novak Djokovic (1´), Spanish Rafael Nadal (3´), Austrian Dominic Thiem (4 ´) and the Swiss Roger Federer (6´). In fact, so far, the “Peque” had had as best performances in this contest two appearances in the third round (in 2017 and 2018), in seven presentations.
