The huge ship stranded in the Suez Canal was released

The 400-meter-long Ever Given container ship, which has blocked the Suez Canal for nearly a week, has started moving and has been partially released. This is shown by two sites for visualization of maritime traffic, AFP reported.

The rear of the ship weighing 200 thousand tons has moved away from the west bank of the canal, show the sites VesselFinder and MyShipTacking, adds BTA.

According to the company Inchcape Shipping, which provides services in the field of shipping, the massive vessel was released and is back on the water, DPA reported.

We remind you that nearly 370 ships, of which 25 oil tankers, cannot pass through the Suez Canal due to the container ship stuck in it.

Two additional tugs – a Dutch and an Italian – have come to the rescue in efforts to free the skyscraper-sized ship, but major freight forwarders are increasingly diverting their vessels for fear that the operation could take a long time.
