In Britain, a child finds a fossil that is 500 million years old

In the UK, a child accidentally found a fossil that could be hundreds of millions of years old.

how informs The Guardian, a 6-year-old boy stumbled upon the find in his yard.

The child was able to make the discovery thanks to a set of “fossil hunter”, which his parents gave him for Christmas.

According to the boy, he just dug for worms and found a stone that looked a bit like a horn.

“I thought it might be a tooth, claw or horn, but it was actually a piece of coral,” – he said.

The child’s father was able to understand the approximate age of the find thanks to a Facebook group.

Most likely, the boy found the coral Rugosa, whose age is estimated at 251–488 million years.

Recall that 500 km from the capital of Peru, Lima, archaeologists have found a 3200-year-old fresco on the wall of the temple.
