Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The official government extends relaxation Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) for a new car. Initially, this policy only applied to cars with an engine capacity of less than 1,500 cc.
But in the next month or four days, the relaxation will also hit cars with engine capacities between 1,500cc-2,500cc. This means that the Toyota Fortuner to the Mitsubishi Pajero will enter it.
However, the discount does not reach 100%, only a maximum of 50%. Where the incentive is not up to 0% PPnBM or 0% tax.
“Tax deductions will be given to KBM-R4 with these capacities and the 4×2 and 4×4 segments,” said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in his official statement quoted on Sunday (28/3/2021).
The policy was decided upon in a limited coordination meeting chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, attended by the Minister of Industry and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
Agus said that there are at least two PPnBM reduction schemes given to 4×2 and 4×4 vehicles. Includes:
The first for 4×2 vehicles, is a 50% PPnBM discount. In the first stage (April-August 2021), from 20% to 10% and a discount of 25%. Phase II (September-December 2021), from 20% to 15%.
Second for 4×4 vehicles is a 25% discount. Phase I from 40% to 30% and a discount of 12.5%. Phase II, which was 40% to 35%.
Although not 100%, the discount that will apply later in April 2021 is quite large. The range can reach Rp. 40 million to Rp. 50 million.
