Several European countries are in a hurry to tighten restrictions due to the spread of new Covid-19 variants / Article / LSM.lv

With the spread of new strains of Covid-19, more and more European countries are tightening existing restrictions to reduce the spread of the virus.

In Poland, for example, kindergartens, large construction and furniture stores, hairdressers and beauty salons, and amateur sports centers have been closed since Saturday. There is also a limited number of people allowed in churches.

In the Czech Republic, which has been hit particularly hard by Covid-19, kindergartens have been closed again and full-time education is also denied to younger pupils. Movement between municipalities is prohibited. Covid-19 tests should be performed regularly by companies that continue to work on-site, such as in different factories.

In many places, restrictions are tightened during the Easter holidays. In Italy, for example, these days there will be the strictest restrictions throughout the country. All shops are closed, except those selling basic necessities, and people are encouraged to stay at home.

In several countries, such as the Netherlands and Greece, there is a daily curfew.

In other countries, the movement of people is restricted, not only between municipalities, but also within them. In Ireland, for example, you are not allowed to go more than five kilometers from your place of residence, unless for work or other justifiable reasons.
