Firefighters responded to a fire declared in an apartment in a HMHQ building located at 181 rue Lessard, in Loretteville.
A few tenants were inconvenienced by the smoke. Thus, the ambulance service deployed 5 ambulances on site in addition to its emergency support vehicle. Five people were assessed. Three people were taken care of by paramedics and transported to the hospital center for having been inconvenienced by the smoke. One of them was said to have been severely inconvenienced and to have suffered burns, the severity of which is unknown.
According to our information, the firefighters evacuated a person through a window with the help of a ladder.
The damage appears to have been limited to the housing in question. However, smoke accumulated in the passages.
The Red Cross is on site, it is not known for the moment whether tenants will have to be taken care of by the aid organization and how many people will be able to return to the accommodation. The RTC also deployed a bus on site to allow tenants to find temporary refuge there.
The two-storey building has 113 units.
