Pope Francisco
The words of Pope Francis

A year ago, on March 27, 2020, in the antechurch of St. Peter’s Basilica, Pope Francis prayed and blessed urbi et orbi to a world affected by the pandemic, shaken by uncertainty like the disciples in the boat in the midst of the storm (Mk 4,35-41). The Pope’s words are current not only because of the health emergency still in force in the world, but also because of the strong response of the fraternity, which illuminates the darkness of isolation and individualism, and trusts “in the victorious weapons of prayer and from service”.

The ongoing pandemic, with the consequent economic and social crisis, like a storm that has not subsided, makes it even more evident that we are “in the same boat” as humanity, called to row together, because no one is saved alone.

Let us read again, as an embrace of hope, the meditation that Pope Francis delivered on March 27, 2020, in the extraordinary moment of prayer in time of epidemic.
