Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi together again in a league? If Liga MX President Mikel Arriola has his way, this could happen – in North America.
For many years, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were the common figureheads of the Spanish league. Mikel Arriola believes that a merger of the Mexican league and the MLS could ensure that the two exceptional players return to the same league. “We would be one of the best leagues in the world,” said Arriola, when asked about the possible merger ESPN (quoted via Goal). The 45-year-old explained: “The next step would be to have Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo here (Mexico, d. Ed.) Or in the USA, maybe in the last phase of their careers.”
Will Ronaldo Juventus and Messi leave FC Barcelona?
How it will go with Ronaldo and Messi in the future is actually open. While CR7 is speculating about an exit from Juventus Turin, Messi’s contract with FC Barcelona expires at the end of the season. He left it open whether the Argentine would extend it. The dreams of a common get-together in North America do not seem to be mere fantasy.
