The Nice-Matin group launched the “Alex” podcast this Friday, October 23. For a year, we will collect the testimonies of the inhabitants of the valleys, ravaged by the passage of storm Alex. They will share with us their fears but also their hopes … while they are rebuilding. The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, in solidarity with the victims of storm Alex, is associated with the production of this podcast.
Since the passage of the storm Alex, the life of Luca is suspended. At 25, the young man had many dreams: that of devoting himself completely to his profession as a mechanic and of taking animals to work with his parents on the family farm, located in Viévola, a few kilometers from Tende. But the passage of the storm completely upset his plans.
Since the storm swept away everything in its path, his parents took refuge in Piedmont, Italy, after being unable to bring back their animals that they had taken to graze in Casterino, due to lack of access. The family home, to which the young man is deeply attached, may no longer be accessible. So to escape the spiral of uncertainty, Luca clings to life, to the little things of everyday life.

The material damage is considerable, the human losses impressive.
For a year, Nice-Matin intends to collect the testimonies of the inhabitants of the Valleys. They will share with us their fears but also their hopes … while they are rebuilding.
At each meeting, a witness, a story …
