My Corona break: Pascal Giefers, managing director and footballer of TuS Erkeln, is celebrating a happy three-and-a-half-year break after an injury … – Warburg

It was an excruciatingly long three and a half years in which the defender devoted himself to new tasks related to football and supported the board of his home club TuS Erkeln in a phase of upheaval. “That was not a good time,” he says with a view to the withdrawal of the first team from the district league A during the current 2017/2018 season. In the course of this, major changes were initiated in the board. A post was proposed to Giefers, who had already had organizational tasks since the second team was founded in the summer of 2016. He did not allow himself to be asked twice and was elected managing director during the 2018 general meeting. “Our club statutes provide for a four-person presidium,” explains Giefers, saying that he and his colleagues Alexander Rampe (board spokesman), Boris Hartmann (sports director) and Michael Lüke (treasurer) hold positions that very few clubs have such a title. The diverse organizational challenges that his area of responsibility entails made it easier for Giefers to say goodbye to active football.
