Despite its complex past, Motorola is still a current brand, which is trying to convince us with a pair of smartphones called moto g50 and moto g100. With new additions, the Chinese Lenovo brand is responding to the current situation in the middle class, to which, in addition to its typical DNA, it also brings a novelty in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. 5G. Both phones would love competed with Realme, then Samsungwhich brands have also recently introduced their innovations.
The Motorola g50 is the most affordable of the two. The display is of the IPS type and has a diagonal of 6.5 ″, HD + resolution and a fineness of 269 ppi. Under the hood we find a Snapdragon 480 processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory with the possibility of expansion with microSD cards up to 1 TB. There is also a 3.5 mm jack, USB-C, Bluetooth 5.0, 5G support, NFC or FM radio. In addition to the charger, the package also includes a silicone case and a protective foil, which also applies to a more equipped model.
You will also enjoy batteries with a capacity of 5000 mAh, unfortunately only with support for 10W charging. There are three cameras – the main 48Mpx with a pixel size of 1.6 μm and an aperture of f / 1.7, which is complemented by two “redundant” sensors, one 5Mpx for macro and the other 2Mpx for depth of field, both with an aperture of f / 2.4. The operating system is Android in version 11. Forget about water resistance, there is only unspecified resistance to splashing water.
The second shaving master, the Motorola g100, is definitely a more interesting piece. The display received a 6.7 ″ diagonal, Full HD + resolution, HDR10 and a 90Hz refresh rate. Inside we find the Snapdragon 870 5G processor, which is complemented by Adreno 650 graphics, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal memory with the possibility of expansion with microSD cards up to 1 TB.
The battery also got a capacity of 5000 mAh, but this time with support for 20W TurboPower charging. Other equipment includes USB-C with the option to connect accessories via DisplayPort, Bluetooth 5.1, 3.5 mm jack or NFC. The operating system is Android in version 11. Forget about water resistance, there is only unspecified resistance to splashing water.
The three cameras at the back look quite solid. The main sensor received a resolution of 64 Mpx, an aperture of f / 1.7 or a pixel size of 0.7 μm. The second camera is a wide-angle camera with 16 Mpx, 117 ° angle and f / 2.2 aperture, and the last in the party is a 2Mpx depth sensor with f / 2.4 aperture. The trio is complemented by a ToF sensor and laser focusing. The main camera can record video at up to 6K at 30 fps or at 4K at 60 fps. On the front we find two selfie cameras, a classic 16Mpx and a wide-angle 8Mpx.
Both phones are also equipped with the Ready For platform, which is a kind of equivalent Samsung DeX and to enhance all the benefits of your phone from gaming to video conferencing with connectable accessories. Motorola moto g50 will be available in the Czech Republic in the second half of April 2021 for a recommended retail price of CZK 6,490 and Motorola moto g100 is available in the Czech Republic now for a recommended retail price of CZK 12,999.
