Westview High School – News

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Recently, you may have heard that Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued Executive Order 2021-06 with regards to rolling back facial covering requirements across the state of Arizona.

We want to be clear that this does not rescind Governor Ducey’s previous Executive Order 2020-51 or the emergency order from Arizona Department of Health Services Emergency Measure 2020-04. Please know that everyone is required to wear a mask on school property. Wearing a mask is still one of the top mitigation strategies for safe in-person learning as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As a reminder, we still expect that masks be worn throughout the campus for your safety and that of our teachers, support staff, and administrators. In addition, TUHSD and school mitigation strategies remain in place. These include required and correct use of masks at all times; physical distancing of 6 feet (to the greatest extent possible); handwashing and respiratory etiquette; cleaning and maintaining facilities; and monitoring of cases with Contact Tracing in combination with isolation/quarantine.

Thank you.

Response and clarification on the use of masks on school grounds

Dear Parents / Guardians:

You recently heard that the Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, issued Executive Order 2021-06 regarding the reduction of facial coverage requirements throughout the state of Arizona.

We want to make it clear that this does not terminate Governor Ducey’s previous Executive Order 2020-51 or the Arizona Department of Health Services Emergency Measure 2020-04 emergency order. Please note that everyone must wear a mask on school property. Wearing a mask remains one of the top mitigation strategies for safe in-person learning, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As a reminder, we still expect masks to be worn throughout the campus for your safety and that of our teachers, support staff, and administrators. Additionally, TUHSD and the schools’ mitigation strategies remain in place. These include the mandatory and correct use of masks at all times; 6 feet physical distance (to the greatest extent possible); hand washing and respiratory tag; cleaning and maintenance of facilities; and case monitoring with contact tracing in combination with isolation / quarantine.

Thanks.
