In recent days, the Cameroonian Federation (Fecafoot) has been the subject of numerous taunts following the blunder concerning Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The instance is indeed accused by the player’s father and coach Toni Conceiçao of having sent the summons of the Bayern Munich striker for the matches against Cape Verde on Friday and Rwanda on Tuesday at the wrong address, which prevented him from being able to respond favorably to the call. However, for its part, Fecafoot denies any error.
«For the summons of the players, an email is sent to the clubs, with a copy to each player. Then a direct sending is made to the player’s Whatsapp. Finally, the player receives a phone call to make sure that he and his club have received his summons. All of this is well documented and traceable. It is following this process that the coach makes his final list.», Commented the general coordinator of the selections of Cameroon, Bill Tchato, on the official site of Fecafoot.
Between the lines, the former Indomitable Lion therefore implies that, if the former Parisian has not been summoned, it is by choice of Conceiçao. Enough to give a new turn to this affair!
