The processing time for a death benefit claim varies. It depends on how long it takes to receive the documents needed to process your request and analyze them.
The claims officer responsible for processing the claim will contact you. He will also send you his decisions in writing.
If your death benefit claim is successful, the adjudicator will indicate in their letter the amount you will receive.
If your death benefit claim is denied and you do not understand the decision, call your adjudicator for details. If you still do not agree, you have the right to challenge this decision.
Direct deposit of death benefit
The SAAQ can deposit the death benefit directly into your bank account. If this is what you want, complete the section 18 – Direct deposit registration of the form and do not forget to attach a specimen check with the mention “canceled”.
