Bayer Leverkusen has expanded its coaching staff with Miguel Moreira (37) from BVB. He is supposed to act as an assistant to the new head coach Hannes Wolf, who was appointed on Tuesday, and was brought in by league rivals Borussia Dortmund. There he looked after the U17s.
Moreira had already been Wolf’s assistant during Wolf’s professional positions at VfB Stuttgart and in Belgium at KRC Genk. On Tuesday, the factory club had already announced the commitment of the experienced Peter Hermann (69) as a Wolf assistant.
In addition to German, Moreira speaks fluent Portuguese, Spanish, French and English, which is certainly an advantage given the multicultural composition of the Bayer squad.
“We are sure that Miguel will make a major contribution to the successful end of the current Bundesliga season,” said Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes.
